I was going to quit this because it was so strange. But I kept reading it and the story unfolds nicely within the notes and the way they’re formatted.
The notes feel like his way of dealing with the anxiety of telling his wife something important. They’re notes about how much he loves his wife, his anxiety for being her husband — and also, his bookstore isn’t doing too well.
