4. Harriet Quimby – 1st woman licensed as an airplane pilot in America.

5. Girl Guides of America (Girl Scouts) established as the 1st voluntary organization for girls.

6. Caresse Crosby – 1st woman to patent a brassiere

7. Margaret Singer – open 1st birth control center.

8. Jeannette Rankin – 1st American woman elected to congress.

9. Loretta Perfectus Walsh – 1st woman to enlist in the US Navy in a non-nursing position.

10. Annette Adams– 1st female assistant US attorney general

11. Opha May Johnson – 1st woman to enlist in the US Marines.

12. Genevieve & Lucille Baker – 1st uniformed women to serve in the US Coast Guard.

13.Sara Teasdale – 1st woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry.
